How to invest for your goals and the planet reforestation with Beewise
A short guide to help you reach your goals while simultaneously helping the planet.
When you start investing, eventually those first profits come along. Bit by bit you start growing your profits until the point where you ask yourself what you want to do with those profits. This is where you might start feeling stuck in your thoughts. That’s why it is very important to ask yourself why you are investing before you start investing. Are you investing to save? Or do you want to use your profits for a certain goal? Only by thinking and planning ahead, you will be able to achieve your goals.
Investing for your goals
When we designed the Beewise app, we wanted to make sure that we would deliver a smooth investing experience to the Beewise community. With this came the thought of wanting to help our users set up and eventually achieve their investment goals. This is why we created a goals section in our app. When you invest in one of our portfolios, you have to connect that investment to a goal. Let’s say you want to invest in our technology portfolio with the goal of buying a €20,000 car within the next 5 years. Based on this information, we will make a recommendation of how much you should ideally invest each month to achieve this goal within your given timeline. By filling in your goal details in the Beewise app, you will have a much clearer action plan set to achieve your goal within your timeline.
How to invest in your goals in a few steps?
1. Go to the Investments Dashboard, where you can create a goal.
2. Here, you can set your goal name, target balance, and timeline.
3. Once you have filled in your goal details, you can select a portfolio to connect to your goal. This means you will invest in that certain portfolio to achieve your goal.
4. Once the portfolio has been selected, you can choose your preferred amount of funds to add. Here, we will give you a recommended amount to achieve your goal within your timeline.
Investing for the planet reforestation
Beewise did not want to be like any other investment app. We wanted to create an investment platform for a community of people that value the importance of meaningful investments. This is where our partnership with WeForest came in. WeForest is an international NGO dedicated to planet reforestation in the tropics. We decided to join our forces with them to help raise the necessary funds to maintain one of their projects based at The Tietê river in the Atlantic Biome in Brazil. The river is one of the most polluted rivers in Brazil. WeForest wants to restore the forest on the edges of the Tietê river and its tributaries with native species, protecting water bodies from soil siltation and runoff from herbicides and pesticides. The project is also providing a testing ground for pioneering restoration approaches that aim to reduce the use of herbicides – which are usually relied on in Brazil to control invasive grasses – or even eliminate them entirely. While Azimut has committed itself to this project, we thought it was important to involve our Beewise community too, by giving them the chance to donate 1% of our investments to planet reforestation. We really believe in the power of our community, and hope that together we can truly make a difference.
How to invest in planet reforestation in a few steps?
• You can donate by going to Donations in your Profile Dashboard.
• Here you can activate donations for any of your goals. Once your donations have been activated for your chosen goals, you will automatically donate 1% of these investments.
As we know donating 1% of your investments might feel insignificant when you look at it on an individual basis, we thought it was very important to dedicate a section on our app to showcase the Beewise community’s contributions as a whole to WeForest too. This way we want to show that every bit does help and make a big difference as a whole. In this section, you can not only see the profits donated, but also the number of trees grown so far, and the amount of CO₂ emissions that will be captured within the next 30 years through these grown trees.
